wk1 - The world i want to live in

If I could live in any kind of world, I'd want it to be one where everyone feels safe, respected, and treated fairly, no matter who they are. When I imagine this world, I think of a scene like the future-themed game Detroit: Become Human, only the world view of the game is better. (Contributors to Detroit: Become Human Wiki, n.d.). In that game, humans and androids clash over injustice and fear. But in my world view, there is no conflict, only understanding. Instead of fighting for rights, everyone already has rights.

In this future, humans and androids will coexist as equals. There is something called the "Universal Ethical Agreement", which is essentially a law that protects everyone, not just humans, but all thinking and feeling life. Justice is not about imprisoning people, but helping people understand what they did wrong and repairing the harm they caused. Justice is more about healing than punishment. There are places called "Reconciliation Centers" where people can talk, learn, and move on.

In this society, equality is real. Regardless of your race, gender identity, or even whether you are an Android, everyone has equal rights and opportunities. There is no poverty, no homelessness, and certainly no bullying. This is because everything is set up to help people grow. Schools teach not only common math, science, and liberal arts, but also empathy, communication skills, and how to work together. Children grow up in a smart home cyberpunk-like environment and gradually build their emotions and spirits with others including androids. The whole system focuses on caring rather than controlling.

This world means a lot to me personally. I remember when I was in school, there was always an environment of small circles, which led to some students being left out, just because they were introverted and behaved a little differently. They were often bullied and no one, including me, stood up for him just to not be seen as one of them. I still regret this. It made me realize how important it is to create a space where people feel accepted. Not just to prevent violence, but to make sure no one feels alone or unwanted.

When I look at the world today, it's clear that we're still far from that ideal. Injustice, war, discrimination, and corruption still exist. Many people are afraid of change, some fear they'll lose power and status, others are trapped in a system that only cares about money, otherwise known as money slavery. Our justice system is also still full of bias, and many leaders care more about control than cooperation.

But I think this peaceful world is not out of reach. We can build it if we really try. It starts with changing our mindset of justice, not as punishment, but as something that can bring people together again. It starts with teaching children how to care for others, not just competing and comparing grades, performance, and other personal assessment data. And it all starts, of course, with listening to each other and to people who are different from us.

If this world had a soundtrack, I imagine it would be soft and peaceful, perhaps a mix of gentle digital sounds, soft synthesizers, ethereal tones, and sparse melodies that evoke a sense of technology and nature coexisting peacefully. Its steady and slow rhythm also reflects the calm, contemplative atmosphere of this world. (Cat Trumpet, 2022) I can imagine myself walking through a city park, humans and androids laughing and chatting together, and there is no fear in the air, only tranquility and peace.

This is the world I want to live in. Not just because it's futuristic or cool, but because it's fair. A world where no one is left behind, a world where justice is real and kindness is not scarce, a world where this should be the norm. I know we're not there yet, but maybe if more people start imagining it, and start making it happen, we'll get closer and closer to it.
